On the 23rd September 2015, the Medicine & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), issued a press release to the British media informing that Silimed implants were suspended by reason of contamination.
Silimed is the 3rd largest silicone implant manufacturer and they are based in Brasil.
BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons) stated that at the present time there is no risk to publilc health but they continue to monitor the situation.

If you have Silimed it is important that you remain alert to any need to remove and replace the implants.
Speak to your GP about any concerns in light of the MHRA’s decision to halt any further use of them.
