25 Women Receive Payouts from Health Board after Surgery by one Doctor

 

25 Women Receive Payouts from Health Board after Surgery by one Doctor at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Women treated at Glan Clwydd Hospital and Isbyty Gwynedd have received compensation following surgery.

The negligent surgery involves Transvaginal Mesh, hysterectomy, ventrosuspension, removal of ovaries, fibroid sugery and prolapse surgery. Many of the issues involve failure to consent a patient and warn of risks and complications. Some surgeries were not clinically indicated. Some surgery was not told to a patient until after it was undertaken.

We have acted for a large number of patients and continue to be contacted by ladies who have been severely affected.

Y Byd ar Bedwar has spoken to seven women in north Wales who have received compensation following surgery carried out. Several say they did not consent to the procedures they underwent, and most describe chronic pain that has had a devastating impact on their lives.

Between them, the seven women said they have received more than £600,000 in compensation from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board since 2015.
