Asherman Syndrome on Future Pregnancy

Asherman Syndrome on Future Pregnancy

Asherman Syndrome on Future Pregnancy means women need to be closely monitored for risks.

Asherman’s syndrome frequently develops as a direct complication of a birth injury or a postpartum event, particularly when the uterine lining is traumatised during the management of childbirth or pregnancy loss. To remove retained placental tissue or treat postpartum haemorrhage, doctors often perform a D&C or instrumental curettage. Roughly 90% of Asherman’s syndrome cases stem from pregnancy-related uterine procedures.

Women who develop Asherman’s syndrome face elevated risks in any subsequent pregnancies due to compromised uterine volume and structure

Our series indicates a higher incidence of intrauterine growth restriction, MAP, postpartum haemorrhage, and newborn anatomic malformations in Asherman syndrome pregnancies than that reported in pregnancies within the general population.
