Asherman’s Syndrome Treatment
Asherman’s Syndrome Treatment can be effective in treating the adhesions within the uterus. There are a number of private Doctors who specialise in the removal of adhesions effectively.
Procedure: A surgeon uses a hysteroscope (a thin telescope) inserted through the cervix to directly view and cut the scar tissue with scissors or energy devices (like lasers). Cold cutting is recommended to reduce the recurrence of adhesions. The adhesions are cut to try and completely remove adhesions and visualize the normal uterine cavity.
Mild cases might be simpler, but severe blockage might need specialized techniques or even abdominal surgery.
A balloon catheter (like a Foley catheter) or a stent is placed in the uterus for several days to keep the cavity open so that it does not ‘stick’ back together.
Estrogen is often prescribed for months to help the uterine lining (endometrium) grow back and prevent scarring.
