Compensation from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board for 25 women following gynaecological surgery carried out by one surgeon.
We have acted for 17 women who brought claims for compensation against the healthboard.
The use of TVT and TVT-O mesh has been suspended in Wales since 2018 following patient safety concerns.
We have acted for women who were injured by gynaecologists during rectopexy surgery
Over recent months, S4C’s current affairs programme Y Byd ar Bedwar has been investigating the gynaecology department of the health board between 2002 and 2016.
Many of the women were compensated for failure to obtain fully informed consent before carrying out surgery. Many did not adequately explain the potential side effects and risks of treatment. Some had unnecessary surgery or surgical procedures that they did not know about or consent to.
S4C’s current affairs programme Y Byd ar Bedwar has been investigating.
