Fibroid Drug Causes Pregnancy Loss

Fibroid Drug Causes Pregnancy Loss

Fibroid Drug Causes Pregnancy Loss and women must be warned.
The drug Yselty (linzagolix) must not be taken during pregnancy. It is strictly contraindicated because it can cause early pregnancy loss and harm the developing baby.
Yselty is indicated in adult women of reproductive age for:
– treatment of moderate to severe symptoms of uterine fibroids,
– symptomatic treatment of endometriosis in women with a history of previous medical or surgical treatment for their endometriosis

Yselty is absolutely contraindicated in pregnancy. If you become pregnant while taking Yselty, you should stop taking it immediately and contact your doctor.

As Yselty can reduce or completely stop your menstrual periods, it may be difficult to know if you are pregnant. Therefore, women of childbearing potential must use effective non-hormonal contraception while taking Yselty and for at least one month after stopping the treatment.A negative pregnancy test is required before starting treatment.

Yselty is also contraindicated while breastfeeding, as a risk to newborns or infants cannot be excluded.

Yselty does not provide contraception on its own, so you cannot rely on it to prevent pregnancy
