Glan Clwyd Hospital Compensation
Glan Clwyd Hospital Compensation for gynaecological procedures
Informed discussion with patients regarding the available treatment options, along with conversations around consent, are an integral part of any gynaecological process.
25 women have received compensation from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board which runs Glan Clwyd following gynaecological surgery carried out by one surgeon.
Over recent months, S4C’s current affairs programme Y Byd ar Bedwar has been investigating the work of gynaecological surgeons between 2002 and 2016.
Many of the women were compensated on the groundsthere was a failure to obtain fully informed consent before carrying out surgery, and did not adequately explain the potential side effects and risks of treatment.
We acted for the majority of those women bringing claims and we are also investigating claims rom 2016 onwards.
