LAPAROSCOPIC VENTRAL MESH RECTOPEXY

LAPAROSCOPIC VENTRAL MESH RECTOPEXY

We have assisted many women who have been injured by Laparoscopic Ventral Mesh Rectopexy.

The treatment of the Claimant by the Defendant was negligent. The Defendant admitted liability for failing to offer alternative treatment options before proceeding to the LVMR procedure. They also admitted failing to explore other less invasive options. Instead they admitted to proceeding where that surgical procedure was not indicated given the mild intussusception.

As a result of the Defendant’ s negligence, the Claimant has suffered personal injuries, loss and damage by way of chronic pain which began immediately after the surgery. The chronic pain made walking and sitting unbearable. Sexual dysfunction and bladder and bowel pain and incontinence makes life very difficult.

The Claimant’ s prognosis is poor following extensive excision of the mesh which risked increasing her pain levels. Proctectomy was an option which removed the rectum itself together with the mesh and forming an end stoma. All future surgery risks cause pelvic nerve damage, further bladder / bowel and sexual dysfunction.
