TVT and TOT Mesh Claim

TVT and TOT Mesh Claim

TVT and TOT Mesh Claim can still be made many years after the surgery. Both a TVT and TOT mesh were used to treat stress urinary incontinence. Both caused mesh erosion, chronic pain, worsening of overactive bladder, pain on intercourse and retention of urine.

As far back as 2007 a systematic review of transobturator and retropubic tapes was published in the RCOG journal stated that the “risk of vaginal erosion and groin pain is higher with TOT or TVT-O”.

Vaginal injuries and erosion as well as pain in groin and thigh is higher in the TOT mesh.

Any reasonably competent gynaecologist or urologist offering TOT would have been aware of the risks and complications.

Obturator nerve damage causes chronic groin pain which is permanent. This causes leg pain and mobility issues, weakness and falling.

It is not too late to pursue a claim for injury for mesh. Many women are only just encountering complications with mesh and may are being diagnosed only when referred to a mesh centre.

It is important not to suffer alone and seek out the care you need from those specialising in mesh injuries.
